It’s clear that this first of my two tracks on the foundations of human rights has touched quite a nerve with you all. I’ve enjoyed reading the comments it has provoked – I liked especially the way your interactions have sometimes left my text far behind as you have developed themes of your own. This is exactly as it should be! Here is my take on what you have been saying, and on how it impacts on my thinking. Of course this week’s track on the truth of human rights is a follow-up to the discussion here so there’ll be plenty of opportunity over the next few days to keep this debate going.
